Now That's a Gate

The NER and indeed the LNER wasted absolutely nothing and when an old rail crossing in the area was closed one of the single gate leafs was donated to Albion Station and immediately converted into the goods yard swing gate entrance. Unfortunately, this gate is unlikely to operate again given the truncating of the stations good siding several years previous. As usual, coal trains are abundant in the area and one slowly moves through the station precinct. GCMRC 18 Feb 2012.
